Mind Research is the solo project of Tijuana‐born producer Miguel Castillo. Growing up on dusty cassette tapes and late‐night radio transmissions, Miguel’s first experiments with melody and rhythm began in his childhood bedroom—where he learned to coax hypnotic tones from a battered analog synth.

As a teenager, he dove into Tijuana’s underground electronic scene, playing DIY house parties and absorbing the city’s raw creative energy. Those early nights taught him the power of sound to unite strangers on a crowded dance floor.

In early 2025, Castillo unveiled his debut EP Oneiric Code, a three-track journey through “Brutalism,” “Timewave,” and “Dystopia.” Each composition layers brooding beats with shimmering synth pulses and jagged guitar riffs, hinting at worlds both futuristic and familiar.

By mid-2025, he launched the Research Mix series—extended sets that marry analog warmth with digital precision. Recorded live in his studio, these hour-long sessions underscore his skill at sculpting immersive soundscapes that ebb and flow like tides.

Today, Mind Research stands at the intersection of Tijuana’s DIY spirit and the global electronic underground. His work continues to evolve—pushing boundaries with every release and inviting listeners to confront shadows, embrace texture, and lose themselves in layered sonic journeys.
